Will You Need AC In September?

Will-You-Need-AC-In-September-5b75e4edf0bcd

Summer is quickly coming to an end in Merrimack Valley, and with it, hopefully some cooler weather. However, there is the possibility that warm days will pop up here and there, and you’ll want to keep your air conditioner running so that your house stays comfortable. If you’ve noticed that your AC unit has been having trouble this summer, then contact the experts at Lamco Systems right away. With our help, you can keep the cool air flowing when those hot days come around in September.

Stopping and Starting Your Air Conditioner

Once summer ends and fall arrives, you may be able to open the windows at night and let the cool breeze flow through the house. However, once morning comes, you close everything up and turn the air conditioner on once more. Even though you’re at work during the day, you want the house to stay comfortable so that it’s not too hot when you get home in the evening. It’s important to set your thermostat at an appropriate temperature so that your AC doesn’t start and stop several times throughout the day. Leaving the temperature set a bit higher than normal will ensure that the cooling system doesn’t turn on unless the house gets warm enough to warrant it.

Keep an Ear Out for Noises

On those days in September when you need your air conditioner, it’s important to keep an ear out for strange noises. The unit has been running constantly all summer, and internal parts have been subjected to wear and tear over several months. If a certain part was beginning to come loose in June, then it may have finally worked its way free come September. Having your AC unit inspected before you turn it off for the year, or before you use it less frequently during the fall, can prevent major problems that lead to strange noises, or worse, system failure.

Time to Replace Your Air Conditioner?

Fall may seem like an odd time to replace your air conditioner, but as the homeowner, you can decide when you want to install a new system. If you want to get through the next month or so with your current unit and then start looking at new models, then our team can help. We can show you options that are right for your house, and schedule an installation appointment for next spring or early summer. If you’d rather we remove the old unit now and get the new one in place before fall, then we can do that instead.
