Signs You Need To Replace Your Air Conditioner, Part Two

Summer is coming, which means it is time to start thinking about the functioning of your air conditioner. In our last blog, we went over two signs that you may need to replace your air conditioner: little to no cool air, and weak air flow. In this blog, we will go over a couple more signs that your air conditioner needs to be replaced:

Moisture around your system

If it appears that your system is leaking, it may be an indication that you need to replace your air conditioner. This may be a sign that your refrigerant is leaking, which is dangerous for the health of you and your family. Alternatively, the leaking could be water from a broken drain tube. Regardless of the suspected source, when you see leaking near your AC, it is imperative that you call Lamco Systems for our AC repair or replacement services.

System older than 15 years old

Unfortunately, air conditioners do not last forever; they have a shelf life of about ten to 15 years. If you have had your air conditioner for over a decade, it is a good indication that your air conditioner is not working the way it used to, particularly if you have not kept up with a regular AC maintenance schedule.

High energy bills

Older AC systems simply do not function as well as newer systems, and it may be costing you big. Look at your energy costs during the summer; if you have an older AC system, it is likely that they have skyrocketed in recent history. It may be worth it to replace it to save you energy costs for the summer.

When you suspect you need a new air conditioner, Lamco Systems can help. Contact us to schedule your AC replacement service.
